Taidenäyttelyn mainostus
Tehtävän aiheena oli tehdä mainosjuliste jostakin Chicago Art Instituten kokoelman teoksesta taidenäyttelyä varten, sekä tehdä sen oheen samantyylinen banneri. Toteutin työn Adobe Illustratorilla ja exporttasin sen pdf- ja png-muotoihin jakamista varten. Bannerin tein myös Adobe Illustratorilla samoja kuvia ja fontteja käyttäen, ja exporttasin sen "Save for Web"- toiminnolla. Näyttelyyn kohdistuvat informaation keksin itse.
The objective of the assignment was to make a poster out of one of the art pieces part of the Chicago Art Institute's art collections, as well as a banner of the same style, to promote an art show. I created the poster using Adobe Illustrator and exported it with the "Save for Web" -option. The information regarding the show is all fictional and something I came up on the spot.

Flat Character - Adobe Illustrator
Toteutin kaksi hahmoa käyttäen Adobe Illustratoria ja sen erilaisia muoto- ja overlay-mahdollisuuksia. Tein toisesta hahmosta kaksi eri väriversiota, joista toiseen asetin liukuväriefektin. Tein kaikki hahmot erillisille artboardeille työn sisällä, ja exporttasin ne png-muotoon käyttääkseni niitä muualla.
I created two characters using Adobe Illustrator and the different shape- and overlay-tools available in the program. I made a color variant of the other character and used a gradient effect for the colors. I created all the characters on separate artboards inside the same file, and exported them into png form for external use.

Käytin taittotehtävää varten Polygonin tekemää artikkelia pelistä saadakseni aiheeseen sopivan, mielenkiintoisen tekstin. Taittotehtävää edellisessä harjoituksessa opeteltiin vetämään teksti tekstinkäsittelyohjelmasta (Word) InDesigniin ja täten palstoille, mutta käytin toimintoa vähemmän tässä tehtävässä, sillä sen muotoilu oli epäkäytännöllistä verrattuna siihen, mitä halusin tehdä taiton ulkonäöllä. Tein työn InDesignilla ja poimin käytetyt kuvat sekä netistä että Polygonin alkuperäisestä artikkelista. Kaikki kuvat ovat kuvakaappauksia tai muuta materiaalia Splatoon 2-pelistä. Kokeilin monia InDesignin toimintoja saadakseni aikaan visuaalisesti mielenkiintoisen lopputuloksen. Käytin Master Pagea sivunumeroiden lisäämiseen. Exporttasin viimeistellyn työn PDF-muotoon. I used Polygon's article about the game as the basis of my work and as a source to get an interesting, thematically fitting text to use. In the previous exercise to this one, we were taught to run the text directly into the columns from an external program (Word), but I used the function relatively little in this piece because shaping and editing the text proved to be very difficult in regards to what I wanted to do with the visual layout. I made the piece in InDesign and picked out the images from both the article and image search, all of which are renders or screenshots from the video game Splatoon 2. I tried a lot of different functions of the program to create a visually interesting look for the piece. I used the Master Page function to add universal page numbers. I exported the finished work into the PDF format. It can be viewed through the button below.
Kirjaintyylit - Letter Styles
Tehtävänä oli tehdä PowerPoint-esitys, johon on liitetty jokaiseen esimerkkiesityksessä näytettyyn kirjaintyylilajiin sopivat esimerkit. Esimerkit oli tarkoitus etsiä joko lähiympäristöstä tai Internetistä, jos niitä ei löytynyt. PDF-muotoinen esitys löytyy alta.
The assignment was to make a PowerPoint-presentation with an example of each font style shown in the example. The examples were meant to be found in your surrounding area and photographed, or from the Internet if you didn't have the fonts in question nearby. The presentation, in PDF-format, is below.
